Waylon Phillips adds second win at SSMC; debuts in Lightning Sprint

The 2025 season rolled on for 15-year-old Waylon Phillips over the weekend as he debuted in a new division while continuing to compete in multiple Micro Sprint classes.

In addition to racing in both Outlaw Non-Wing and Stock Non-Wing Micro Sprint action, Phillips made his first career start in a Lightning Sprint. He kicked off the night with a runner-up finish in the Outlaw Non-Wing division before soaring to his second victory of the season in Stock Non-Wing competition.

Phillips initially crossed the line fifth in his Lightning Sprint debut but was later penalized after coming in light at the scales, negating his top-five effort.
